What Happens After I submit?

CURRANT JAM is dedicated to supporting artists and fostering creativity. Here are some things you should know after you submit…

You own 100% your work

  • When you submit to CURRANT JAM you are giving us the right to publish your work – that is it, no strings attached.

  • You own 100% of the intellectual and commercial properties of your work.

  • You do not own the right to any royalties or profits of the magazine.

  • Our goal is to support you & your work.

What you can expect from us

  • As we are a very new publication and are self-funded. Thus, we are only able to give our contributors discounted copies (the pre-order price) of the magazine. In the future (& with more funding) we aim to be able to provide copies for free to our contributors. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • We do not give out any sort of awards or special acknowledgements.

  • CURRANT JAM hosts events where we highlight the work of our contributors. These events include readings, screenings, gallery space, performances (musical, dance, etc.) & more. These events are highlight work that is a little more difficult to feature in print as well as celebrate everyone’s incredible work! *Visual artists can sell their exhibited work directly (we do not take any cut)*

  • Our goal is to foster community and the arts by connecting us all together a little bit more in person & on paper <3.
